Rashida Tlaib pushes to pass resolution to end US backing for Lebanon war

Less than a quarter of the House members supported the resolution, but the US Democratic congresswoman from Michigan told Al Jazeera she will continue to fight for Congress to use its powers to limit Trump’s ability to support Israel’s “unjust invasion” of Lebanon.

“I thank the 90 members of Congress who stood with me and my sister-in-service Delia Ramirez to vote to end U.S. support for these war crimes and mass atrocities,” Tlaib said in a statement.

“Far too many of my colleagues refuse to see the humanity of the Lebanese people,” Tlaib said.
